Story

Na lange tijd is Sean Connery terug als Bond, James Bond. Hier in een remake van "Thunderball". Film Locaties

Tijdens het filmen van "Octopussy" waren op het zelfde tijdstip ook de opnames bezig voor een nieuwe Bond film met Sean Connery. Het is een remake van het in 1965 reeds gefilmde "Thunderball". De openingscène werd vastgelegd in het binnenland van Nassau in de Bahamas. De gegijzelde vrouw is hier Wendy Leech, de dochter van stuntman George Leech. Zij is de echtgenote van Vic Armstrong die voor deze film de stunts arrangeerde.
Bond volgt een ontwenningskuur in Luton Hoo in Luton dat hier dubbeld voor Shrublands. De bijeenkomst van Blofeld vind plaats in Waddesdon Manor te Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire. We volgen de gestolen atoomraketten boven St. Michaels Mount in Cornwall.
Bond reist naar de Bahamas en verblijft er in het British Colonial Hotel te Nassau. Hij ontmoet Nigel Small Fawcett aan Rawson Square. Bond reist naar Frankrijk en hij komt aan op de luchthaven van Nice aan de Azurenkust. De villa waar hij verblijft is gesitueerd in het residentiële gedeelte van Villefranche-sur-Mer. Vanuit deze villa kon hij het jacht "Nabila" van Largo bespieden. Dit jacht was eigendom van Adnan Kashoggi.
Na een spelletje Domination in het Casino van Monte Carlo in het prinsendom Monaco ontdekt Bond het lijk van Nicole. Hij zet de achtervolging in met zijn motor die door "Q" voorzien is van de nodige speeltjes. Het grootste gedeelte van deze achtervolging werd gefilmd in Menton en Villefranche-sur-Mer. Het kerkplein, de promenade en de tunnel onder Menton zijn in de film zeer goed herkenbaar. De achtervolging eindigt in de haven "Port de la Darse" van Villefranche-sur-Mer in een oude loods, waar hij Fatima Blush vermoord met zijn door "Q" omgebouwde vulpen. Op de weg tussen Beaulieu-sur-Mer en Villefranche-sur-Mer kunt u Palmyra terug vinden. In werkelijkheid is dit de Villa Ephrussi de Rotshschild in Cap-Ferrat. De inkomhal van de villa werd gebruikt voor de ontmaskering van Domino haar liefde voor Bond. De buitenzijde van Palmyra is dan weer het Fort Carré d'Antibes in Antibes en de citadel van Villefranche-sur-Mer. Het haventje waar Domino aan land komt is de oude haven van Villefranche-sur-Mer, "Port de la santé".
